The Social Network

Photobucket

On a fall night in 2003, Harvard undergrad and computer programming genius Mark Zuckerberg sits down at his computer and heatedly begins working on a new idea. In a fury of blogging and programming, what begins in his dorm room soon becomes a global social network and a revolution in communication. A mere six years and 500 million friends later, Mark Zuckerberg is the youngest billionaire in history... but for this entrepreneur, success leads to both personal and legal complications. From director David Fincher and screenwriter Aaron Sorkin comes The Social Network, a film that proves you don't get to 500 million friends without making a few enemies. The film is produced by Scott Rudin, Dana Brunetti, Michael De Luca, and Cean Chaffin and based on the book "The Accidental Billionaires" by Ben Mezrich.

Blake Lively and Penn Badgley: It's Over!

Gossip Girl stars Penn Badgley and Blake Lively have ended their three-year romance, a rep for the twosome exclusively tells the new issue of Us. OMFG!

They called it quits in mid-September, amicably. "They’re professionals," an insider says of the pair. "They're still good friends and hang out on the set."

The duo, who met as preteen actors in L.A., then began dating as their characters were dating on Gossip Girl, "kept this news to themselves for a while."

Indeed, they have always taken a drama-free approach to their relationship, and that includes the breakup aspect of it. They just go about their business.

Even those closest to the twosome may be shocked to hear the news. "Nobody on set had any idea," says the insider. "They're really just private."

We're sorry to hear about this breakup news, although it does put a new spin on Blake's rumored hookup with Ryan Gosling earlier this month.

Batman 3 to Be Titled...

Photobucket

Are you ready for the The Dark Knight to rise?

Christopher Nolan has revealed the title for the third installment in his Batman series. Slated for a summer 2012 release, it will be called The Dark Knight Rises. The director has also revealed one more tidbit about the wildly-anticipated film: The Riddler will NOT be the villain.

"We’ll use many of the same characters as we have all along, and we’ll be introducing some new ones," Nolan said of the script.

David Arquette to Howard Stern: I Cried After Non-Courteney Sex

Photobucket

David Arquette won't stop blabbing to Howard Stern.

For the second time since his separation from Courteney Cox, the D-list actor called up the radio host and over-shared about his personal life. Arquette admitted that waitress Jasmine Waltz is not the only woman he's slept with since leaving the actress.

"I'm pretty sure I'm up sh-t's creek right now," he said after dishing on some Australian blonde. "After the first girl I slept with I was crying. I know that's not very sexy... what it does lack is that emotional love that I always have with Court."

Arquette also said he does not have a prenup with Cox, which could actually cost the actress half of her fortune because she earns a lot more than her rarely-employed ex.

Confronted with the report that Cox has also started dating - she's been linked to Cougar Town co-star Brian Van Holt - Arquette described the actor as "a cool guy."

"Everyone has their problems but she is incredible. Any guy would be blessed to be with her," he said. "I don't have any hard feelings for anyone. This is life and we are just going through it publicly."

Yes, David, that's because you keep calling Howard Stern!

Adam Lambert to Release Acoustic Album

Photobucket

A few days after that 16-year old singer announced plans for an acoustic album, Adam Lambert has gone ahead and done the same.

In an interview with Australian TV host Dylan Lewis, Adam said the CD will come out "around Thanksgiving time" and explained its genesis:

“We went around Europe in the earlier part of this year... and we did a lot of promos, so I had Monte, my guitar player, and my drummer at the time. We just did very stripped-back versions of the songs. We got our hands on some of those recordings. Then we also recorded some of the stuff from the actual Glam Nation Tour, so it’s going to be a mix of both.”

Katy Perry and Russell Brand: Married!

Photobucket

Russell Brand and Katy Perry tied the knot Saturday night in India.

The couple "were pronounced Mr. and Mrs. Brand on Saturday, October 23," they said after marrying in a private ceremony attended by close family and friends and performed by a Christian minister and longtime friend of Katy's family.

We couldn't be happier for the two of them.

Katy Perry and Russell Brand exchanged wedding vows at a luxury resort, with the backdrop "the inspirational and majestic countryside of Northern India."

In the days leading up to the nuptials (which you can follow this link to read all about), Brand and Perry have been pulling out all the stops for their guests.

It sounds like the result was a near-perfect event. Despite the lavishness of certain aspects of the wedding, Russell said it was all about keeping it simple.

Movie - The Town

Doug MacRay (Ben Affleck) is an unrepentant criminal, the de facto leader of a group of ruthless bank robbers who pride themselves in stealing what they want and getting out clean. With no real attachments, Doug never has to fear losing anyone close to him. But that all changed on the gang's latest job, when they briefly took a hostage-bank manager, Claire Keesey (Rebecca Hall). Though they let her go unharmed, Claire is nervously aware that the robbers know her name...and where she lives. But she lets her guard down when she meets an unassuming and rather charming man named Doug...not realizing that he is the same man who only days earlier had terrorized her. The instant attraction between them gradually turns into a passionate romance that threatens to take them both down a dangerous, and potentially deadly path.

Christina Aguilera Shakes Off Divorce, Performs in Las Vegas

Photobucket

Following her divorce from Jordan Bratman, Christina Aguilera said in a new interview that it's hard to get out of bed some days.

But the singer shook off these doldrums and made it to Las Vegas over the weekend, where she was one of several performers to take the stage for Justin Timberlake & Friends Concert at Planet Hollywood Resorts and Casino. It benefited Shriners Hospitals for Children.

Aguilera entertained fans with such hits as “Beautiful,” “Fighter” and “Not Myself Tonight." Enjoy her rendition of the former single in the video below.

Jennifer Love Hewitt: My Body is a Wonderland!

Photobucket

In December 2007, Jennifer Love Hewitt faced criticism about her curves and responded with an impressive, mature, well-reasoned statement in which she encouraged those with "butts, boobs, hips and waists" to "stay strong."

The actress has now turned her back on these women and opened up about the extreme measures she took to lose weight.

Inspired by The Biggest Loser, Hewitt says in the latest issue of OK! Weekly that she hired a personal trainer, vomited during their first few sessions together and:

“A couple times I stopped in the middle and burst into tears because I felt like I couldn’t do it. I was torn to shreds physically, mentally and emotionally."

Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal: Spotted Around NYC!

Is the world ready for Gyllenswift?

Photobucket

Photobucket

According to witnesses, Taylor Swift was backstage at Saturday Night Live this weekend, supporting friend and host Emma Stone. But the singer wasn't alone: Jake Gyllenhaal was by her side.

“She looked like she was dreaming while she was there," reports Lainey Gossip. "And they left together. And they’ve been seen all around New York together: brunch, shopping, what people do when they start dating."

Swift has been in the news a lot lately, mostly because her new album comes out today, but also because at least one of the singles off it is clearly dedicated to John Mayer. And not in a good way.

In other words: if this rumor is true, the 29-year old Gyllenhaal - who dated Reese Witherspoon for two years - might wanna be careful. He doesn't want Taylor to title a song "Dear Jake" on her next CD.

Window Phone 7

Photobucket

The first thing you notice about the Windows Phone 7 is it’s amazingly smooth interface. It does not matter if you’ve used older Windows Mobile phones because this is something straight out of a wormhole from the future.

To start using (or unlock) the phone, you simply lift the wallpaper upward. Yes, the whole screen raises up like a curtain to reveal an incredibly simple, yet totally functional “Start Screen”.

Instead of a home menu which reveals a grid of 20 icons, you see a maximum of 8 large squares which contain a mixture of icons and information you’ll need to get going. Each of these squares is an application. Messaging has one, email has its own, calendar has another. Each square is so large that even a person with super-fat thumbs can’t get it wrong.

Apart from the “Start Screen”, the Windows Phone 7 doesn’t give you any other options for customisation. Shift the screen to the right, as the white arrow shows, and you’ve got the rest of your apps in an alphabetically ordered list. No folders, no sorting, nothing. One icon per app in a long, long list.

Selina Jen of S.H.E flown back to Taiwan for treatment

Photobucket

Selina Jen of popular Taiwanese girlband S.H.E has been rushed to a hospital in Taiwan for treatment after she was severely burnt during a filming accident in Shanghai.

According to The China Post, the 28-year-old singer was admitted into the Linkou branch of the Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taipei County late on Sunday night. She was accompanied by both her father and 39-year-old fiancée, lawyer Richard Chang.

Last Friday, Jen and her Chinese co-star, Yu Haoming, 22, were badly burned when a series of planned explosions went horribly wrong during the filming of her music drama “I Have a Date with Spring”.

It is reported that the pop-singer suffered 40 percent burns, including those on her back, hands and legs. She was previously hospitalized in the intensive care unit (ICU) at Ruijin Hospital in Shanghai. Her father said that the singer will require skin transplant surgery and recuperation.

Yu himself is said to have suffered from third-degree burns and is more seriously injured than Jen. The 1.8m-tall singer-actor, who finished sixth in China reality talent show “Superboy” in 2007, has burns on his back, hands and legs as well.

While it is understood that the actors were shooting an explosion scene after several successful trials, this time, the dynamite exploded sooner than expected.

Yu Haoming (right) got even more badly burned when he tried to shield Selina from the accident. (screencap from china.org.cn)

According to China’s Sina website, a technician botched the timing of the explosions near the exit of a disused factory where they were filming. As a result, the actors were caught unprepared as they were leaving the building.

Yu was also hailed by the Chinese press for his heroics as it is believed he shielded his co-star by hugging her when the explosion happened. This saved Selina from sustaining facial injuries.

Meanwhile, the director for the drama, Chen Ming-chang who was criticized by irate fans has since apologized for the accident on his microblog.
