First Universal Studio's Transformer Ride @ Singapore

Photobucket

After a successful launch on Friday night, Transformers: The Ride experienced a technical delay on Saturday afternoon.

When contacted, a spokesperson from Resorts World Sentosa told Yahoo! Singapore that the "brief technical delay" occurred around 2:45pm and the ride resumed normal operations at Universal Studios Singapore (USS) about 45 minutes later.

"Guests in the queue at the time were asked to exit and enjoy our other attractions while the cause of the delay was assessed," he said. No guests were in danger or injured when the disruption occurred, he added.

According to The Sunday Times, which first reported the glitch, visitors had started queuing for the ride outside USS at 9am, an hour before it opened. By 11am, the waiting time for the highly-anticipated ride was up to two-and-a-half hours.

Other rides at USS have also previously encountered problems. The Battlestar Galactica duelling rollercoaster ride faced safety concerns and was closed for nearly a year, while the Madagascar: A Crate Adventure ride was closed for 20 minutes after a guest exited in the wrong direction.

The Transformers ride is the first in the world that is based on the Transformers trilogy of movies.

Apart from visuals and a complex track system, the ride also includes tangible effects, with visitors feeling water, heat and wind while on it.

Transformers director Michael Bay worked as a creative consultant on the ride, while Lucasfilm’s Industrial Light and Magic, the same company that worked with Bay on the three movies, handled motion graphics and special effects.

Harry Potter Theme Park in Singapore ?

Harry Potter fans could be getting a second theme park in the United States, and possibly further attractions in Japan and Singapore, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal on Thursday.

The Journal, citing sources familiar with the plans, said NBC Universal was planning to expand its Universal Studios theme park in Los Angeles with a section devoted to the boy wizard.

The Los Angeles attraction would be along the lines of Universal's Wizarding World of Harry Potter which opened in Orlando, Florida in 2010 with a Hogwarts Castle and rides based on Harry's adventures with his friends.

NBCUniversal and Warner Bros - the Hollywood studio behind the eight blockbuster 'Harry Potter' movies - did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the Wall Street Journal report.

British author J.K. Rowling's 'Harry Potter' book series has sold about 450 million copies worldwide, and the eight movies have made more than US$7.7 billion (S$9.87) at global box offices.

The report on theme park plans follow the anticipated early 2012 opening near London of a Harry Potter-themed studio tour at Warner Bros' Leavesden Studios, where the movies were made.

Adolescence is like a heavy rain. Even though you catch a cold from it, you still look forward to experiencing it once again.

Ko-Teng has several close friends who had a crush on Shen Chia-Yi. Those friends of Ko's thus moved in unison from Ching Cheng's junior high school straight into the senior high school division in pursuit of her.

Naughty in nature, Ko was ordered by their homeroom teacher to sit in front of honor student Shen for her to keep close tabs on him. The two hadn't hit it off at first but Ko gradually fell for Shen, who was always pressuring him to study hard. On the other hand, Shen became impressed by the contrasting values Ko represented. After graduation from senior high, Ko and Shen almost became a couple but the deal was spoilt by a dukeout competition organized by Ko.

Growing up together to witness their beloved Shen walking down the aisle to become someone else's wife, these boys have learned their coming-of-age lessons and continue to pursue each's happiness.
