The champions fired five goals past Portsmouth on Saturday to move a point clear at the top of the table. With the Blues due at Old Trafford in April, the Reds are now technically in control of the title race.

The former AC Milan coach has become an instant member of the Rooney fan club, even though the England international’s goals are preventing the Londoners from running away with the title. Ancelotti believes Rooney has taken over from Cristiano Ronaldo as the world’s No.1 player.
